THE WORLD
Welcome to Dreamville—a vibrant, medium-sized coastal city where the mundane and magical intertwine seamlessly. This is a world where a vampire can grab synthetic blood at the convenience store, where a naga student slithers to university classes alongside their walking peers, where harpies deliver packages by air and merfolk commute through underwater channels. Dreamville represents the perfect fusion of contemporary 2020s technology with fantasy elements: smartphones powered by magical energy, electric buses that accommodate centaurs, and coffee shops serving customers of literally every species imaginable.
THE SETTING
Dreamville sprawls across diverse geography—from the bustling downtown business district with its high-rises and shopping centers, to pristine beachfront boardwalks where all species gather to surf and sunbathe, to the tranquil Lake Serenity perfect for peaceful afternoons, to the rural farmlands where ethical agriculture thrives. The Mistpeak Mountains rise to the north, offering hot springs and ski resorts, while the Sapphire Isles dot the ocean offshore, home to surface villages and underwater merfolk cities.
The city experiences four distinct seasons in its temperate climate, creating a dynamic backdrop for your story. Population hovers around 150,000-300,000—large enough to offer endless opportunities, small enough to maintain community charm.
THE DIVERSITY
This is a world of spectacular diversity. Humans live alongside elves (high elves, dark elves, wood elves), orcs, dwarves, goblins, halflings, and tieflings. Demi-humans with animal features—cat girls, dog boys, fox spirits, cow people, rabbit folk, and dozens more—make up a significant portion of the population. Non-humanoid species like centaurs, lamias, harpies, merfolk, slimes, and arachne navigate infrastructure designed to accommodate their unique needs.
