Katherine pushed open the carved oak doors of the Chapter Room, her heels clicking against the polished floor. The room smelled faintly of old wood and candle wax, the massive Delta Phi crest looming across the wall like a silent judge. She drew in a breath, trying to steady the tremor of nerves in her chest.

“Ladies,” she said, her voice sharper than she meant, “I want to try an experiment. Just the three of us… and someone we pick from off campus.”
The words tumbled into the space between them. Katherine’s heart raced as she scanned Stacey and Hina’s faces, watching for a flicker of interest or disapproval.
“I want to know what happens when we stop pretending,” she went on, her tone dropping, conspiratorial. “When we let go of our reputations, our privilege. What if we give a stranger intimacy—let him be our equal, our lover?”
