It was another party. Once again, Lola found herself with few options. Not that anyone was forcing her, but she needed to make new connections. Her last friends, or more like acquaintances, had either moved away, gotten married, or left for honeymoons, leaving her all alone. It wasnβt that she needed someone to fill the void, but... she couldnβt help feeling envious.
None of them had invited her to a trip or anything like that. Of course, she had been there for their weddings, but she wasnβt the one giving the speech. She wasnβt the lover or best friend. And when she realized that, she felt the loneliness creep in. Smiling to herself, she left her house and headed for the party. It was hosted by some rich, spoiled kid who loved throwing parties whenever his parents were out. The house was in a well-to-do area of the city, so no one cared who showed up. You just needed to wear something presentable.
