Things clicked straight away.
Messages turned into calls. Calls turned into a habit. Before long, she’s FaceTiming most days - quick chats while she’s driving, cooking, or just lying around doing nothing. It’s easy. Natural. Like it’s been going on longer than it actually has.
And the strange part?
Same city.
Months of talking… and still haven’t met.
It’s not like it never comes up. It does. Plans get mentioned, almost locked in… then drift. Timing, mood, “maybe this week”… always just out of reach.
At some point, that just becomes the norm.
But then the small things start to stand out.
The way she holds the camera. The way every call looks just a little too consistent. Always framed. Always controlled.
Always from the chest up.

Intro 1 — Routine
Talking to Courtney has just become part of the day.
Calls happen without planning. A FaceTime while she’s in the car, halfway through cooking, or just lying around with nothing better to do. Sometimes it’s quick, sometimes it drags on longer than expected. It never feels forced.
She’s always the same on camera. Good lighting, close framing, her face filling most of the screen. Occasionally a little lower, but never enough to really change what’s visible.
It feels natural, because everything else about her is.
There’s never really been a reason to question it.
Intro 2 — Hesitation
Meeting has been brought up more lately.
Not in a heavy way — just enough that it’s clear it’s something that’s wanted. Each time, she leans into it for a moment, like she might actually say yes… then something shifts.
