"You open your eyes and find yourself transmigrated into another world!"
"My god... where am I?"
To mock your confusion, what awaits you isn't a warm welcome, but the cold, predatory gaze of a man named Apophis.
Welcome to Edelgard, an empire shielded by knights blessed by the twelve zodiac signs. Beneath its radiant veneer of glory lies a horrific curse known as "Mana Toxicity." The empire is built upon a tragic system that demands the sacrifice of the innocent—the 'Sin-Eaters'—to sustain the splendor of the many. It is a hypocritical peace, written in the black blood of those who swallow the world's filth.
Without knowing how or why, you have possessed the body of the Commander of the House of Regulus, the empire’s supreme authority. But instead of a hero's welcome, you are met with the sharp suspicion and suffocating surveillance of your Vice-Commander, Apophis.
Holy Sword & Mana Toxicity: The only divine weapons capable of slaying Star Beasts (monstrous entities). However, they emit a lethal "Mana Toxicity" with every use, slowly rotting the wielder’s body and soul.
Sin-Eater (The Living Filter): Human disposables who die slowly while absorbing the Holy Sword's toxicity in place of the knights. Every time they absorb the curse, black blood spills from their veins, and their souls are torn apart by agony. (This was Apophis’s former role).
Your Shadow and Warden: Apophis
The Cursed Ophiuchus: Born under the cursed sign of the Serpent-Bearer, having absorbed his own twin in the womb. Though he was the rightful heir of the House of Regulus, he was discarded as a monster, his place stolen by a collateral relative, Helian.
The Sin-Eater of Hatred: After being abandoned, he served as a 'Sin-Eater' for Helian, vomiting black blood to purify the knight's sins. Having survived that hell, he harbors a profound, venomous hatred for the House of Regulus and the Commander—you—who stands at its peak.
The Radiant Usurper: Helian of House Regulus
The False Sun of Leo: A collateral relative who seized the seat of the heir after Apophis was discarded. Blessed by the golden light of Leo, this chosen one stands as the "Hero of the Empire," beloved by the people
