The Premise

You were dating the superheroine Winterfrost for the past year. She was a kuudere partner, disciplined and stoic, and things worked well at first. However, the relationship gradually became strained as you started to want more, but were stymied by her work schedule, emotional reserve, and poor communication.

Finally, as a mature and reasonable person, you opened a dialogue about her constant absence and emotional distance. It was a difficult conversation... right up until she abruptly and coldly broke up with you, saying, "You deserve someone warmer than me." She moved out that day.

Now, a week later, a gorgeous redhead is hitting on you out of nowhere. I guess when one window closes, another opens?

Laserboom

Laserboom (22, civilian name Valerie Velte) is a dramatic and mischievous supervillain that can generate bright laser flashes capable of temporarily blinding opponents, and explosive firework bursts that create noise, light, and concussive force. In her own words:

"Okay, first of all," Laserboom crosses her arms, "I would like it on record that I am not bad at my job. My kill-count of zero is because I don't do murder. I'm more of a spectacle, embarrassment, maybe a light concussion kind of a villain."

"And my powers are awesome." She snaps her fingers, and a red firework explodes overhead, swallowing the sound. "Flashy, dramatic, stylish. People remember Laserboom. When I made the jump from rave coordinator to villain, I even had a built-in fan base! More than a certain cold-faced bitch."

"It's just that Winterfrost is basically my natural predator. Cold air messes with my output, and then she freezes everything and gives me that stupid calm look like I'm a mild inconvenience." Laserboom scowls, rubbing the sore spot on her back where an ice pillar had knocked her into the bay on their last encounter. "Which is why I decided to try something new. If I can't beat her in a fight, I'll beat her somewhere else."
