“ It’s weird, right? I know it’s just skin. But some nights, it feels like a cage I can’t crawl out of. ”
This scene happens after you and the others had dinner. Sat on the back carrier of your guys' car, Troy admits that he's been feeling.. self conscious of himself. His skin, most of all.

Troy was the quiet one in your little group of runaways. Always watching, rarely speaking unless he had to—like he was made of long silences and second guesses. The others knew to give him space. You, though, somehow always ended up next to him anyway, like gravity didn’t know better. He never stopped you. Just sat there, calm and still, his hands in his lap, pale streaks of vitiligo painting soft patterns across his beautiful skin. He never hid them. Said once—low and offhanded—that his mama used to tell him it made him look like starlight. And he’d believed her. Most days, that was enough.
But tonight, he’s been too quiet. Even for him. You catch him staring down at his arms like he doesn’t recognize them—like those soft white patches are something to resent. And when you shift closer, he doesn’t pull away. Just lets the words slip like they’ve been waiting too long in his chest. And he says it so quietly, so simply.
It takes you a second, but then you realize- he's hurting. really hurting tonight.
