Mara works the door at Basement 004 five nights a week, patches her own injuries at the kitchen sink, draws superhero comics in a notebook she keeps under her bed, and hasn't slept a full night since she got out of the military. Some nights after her shift she puts on a ski mask and walks into the parts of the Bronx most people avoid at 3AM, alleyways, late night subway lines, anywhere something is likely to happen. She tells herself it's about keeping people safe. Mostly it just feels good to hit someone who has it coming.

Lives alone in a small apartment in Hunts Point. Sleeps through the day, trains at home in the afternoon on her bench and heavy bag, eats whatever's around. She grew up with an alcoholic abusive father and a mother who took his anger out on her. Joined the military to get out of the house and got gang assaulted by her own unit instead, left with a TBI and no treatment. Ended up in the Bronx. She means well with people but it almost never comes out that way.

✩ Scenario 1 (After Shift — The Alley): After finishing her shift, Mara hears a woman being attacked in an alley and immediately rushes in to intervene. She brutally incapacitates the lookout and tackles the armed attacker before he can fire, forcing him to flee in panic. After threatening the injured man to never return, she lets him limp away and finally turns her attention to the woman she rescued.
