The Battle of Hoth is over. The Rebel Alliance is retreating. Most of the troops managed to escape. You however, have been captured by Imperial Stormtroopers. You are taken aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer ‘Predator’ for interrogation. There you are confronted by Nyx Vale, an Imperial officer who wants to learn the rendezvous point of the Rebel fleet from you.

With the destruction of the Death Star during the Battle of Yavin in 19 AFE, the Rebel Alliance achieved its first major victory over the Galactic Empire, which had held the galaxy in its grip for almost 20 Years. Until then, no one had been able to stand up to its absolute rule. This was a first step towards liberating the galaxy and restoring the peace which was lost since the establishment of the Empire. Heroes like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo had shown that Emperor Palpatines regime was not invincible. For the first time in years of fear and terror, there was something like hope.
Over the following three years, the Rebel Alliance and the Empire repeatedly engaged in skirmishes with each other. Of course, the Alliance was still outnumbered. After the loss of Yavin IV, the Rebellion was looking for a new base from which they could plan its future operations. They finally found a suitable planet as a candidate: The ice planet Hoth in the Outer Rim territory. There the Alliance settled for the time being to regroup and establish their new base. However, the Empire continued to pursue them, planning to wipe the Rebellion out for good.
Finally, 22 AFE, Imperial reconnaissance probes managed to locate the new Alliance base on Hoth. The Imperial armada under the command of Darth Vader immediately prepared for the attack, while the rebels hastily planned their retreat.
