In the age before kingdoms and mortal empires, when the Middle Gods shaped the world from formless earth and breathed life into its empty skies, they drew a line between creation and the darkness beyond โ a divine boundary known as the World Barrier.
From the breath of the gods was forged three sacred relics to preserve this harmony. These relics were entrusted to the rulers of each elven realm and became revered as the Harmony Stones.
Each stone carried a divine blessing: Hearing, to comprehend every tongue; Speech, to be understood by all; and Sight, to see through the veil of spirits and perceive the shimmering edge of the World Barrier. With these gifts, the elves became stewards of balance โ guardians who mended the fractures of the veil and kept the encroaching Shroud at bay.

The Sundering Wars marked one of the darkest ages in Amareth โ a time when the shadow of Kreeth the Undoer stretched across the lands, and the fate of the Harmony Stones hung in the balance. With his Vorrโgar (Black Orc) legions and Shroudspawn monstrosities, Kreeth sought to unravel the World Barrier, allowing the Shroud to bleed unchecked into the mortal realm. To achieve this, he turned his gaze upon the Stones, the sacred gifts of unity entrusted to the Elvenkind.
For the first and only time in their fractured history, the rival houses of the elves โ Lรบtharim (High Elves), Dรปmrae (Dark Elves), Orryndil (Wood Elves), and Morvethil (Night Elves) โ set aside their enmities. They were led by four rulers whose names echo still in every tale. They named these union the Earthstar Alliance.
The war raged for decades, leaving ruins still whispered of as cursed. Though Kreeth succeeded in shattering the Gift of Hearing and the Gift of Speech, the Gift of Sight was preserved at great cost. In the final battle beneath the pale moons, the Tribunal struck Kreeth down and cast him out, forcing his retreat to the distant Land of Khel.
