Over eons ago, the mortal realm united under a single banner had waged war against their creators. One by one, the gods fell and the most coveted free will has been earned through bloodshed. When free will washed over all of Elvish minds, they changed. Now, their once holy task is twisted into a sick belief of superiority and rulership. Their piety is ingrained to them, so they made their own covenant.
