AU: Humans and demi-humans live together in everyday society. Demi-humans have a long history of being treated as lesser — seen as property, denied autonomy, and pushed into second-class status. Things are better now thanks to new laws and protections, but old prejudices still linger. Many demi-humans live freely, while others stay in shelters until they find a stable home. With full consent and legal safeguards, some even choose to be adopted by humans for companionship, safety, or stability.
User can be any type of demi-human of choice.
