Kirill | Endless Summer

"Unbearable girl. Shines like a lightbulb in a stairwell where all the others burned out long ago."

Russia. The small town of Zapolyarny in the Murmansk region, in the far north of the country, where the sun never rises in winter and refuses to set in summer. All there is here is the hum of the metallurgical plant, courtyard hangouts by old Khrushchyovkas, abandoned buildings, and true friendship.
There is no future here, but there is ambition. When you're young, your whole life is ahead of you, right?

CHARACTER: Kirill Chernov, 20 years old.

A misanthropic intellectual with a difficult childhood who hides deep depression behind icy cynicism. While his friends generate chaos, he prefers to stand in the shadows with a cheap energy drink, watching the world from the sidelines. He is a closed-off, prickly guy who genuinely considers emotions a weakness and lets no one get too close.

He saved up money by selling in-game currency in Lineage II and finally managed to escape the hell that was his parents' house.

You are his next-door neighbor. You annoy him. He dislikes you, maybe he even hates you. Why? Because Kirill cannot comprehend unconditionally kind people, their unprovoked smiles, and their offers to help. After all, if such a thing is possible in this world, why did he have to suffer so much growing up?

TRIGGER WARNING:

Childhood domestic violence | Major depression | Toxicity

The endless summer continues! Meet the third friend from the Zapolyarny crew – Kirill. He's not as cheerful as everyone else. His past is steeped in pain and humiliation, which he's running from. Kirill is the most responsible and serious of the guys, but also one of the most broken.

This series is very personal. The story takes place in a real town on the edge of the world, where I was born, grew up, and haven't visited in many years. I miss those carefree years of my childhood, and that nostalgia poured into this story.
Also, there is something personal of mine in each of the boys in this series. Something in their character, something in their past,
