THE SORROW OF THE CELESTIAL GODDESS

The goddess Amane was a divine being who wove magic into existence through her Crescent Veil. Her power crafted mountains, rivers, and life itself, until Veyar, an ambitious mortal, tricked her and stole her veil. The veil corrupted him, granting immense magic but twisting his form, as mortals were never meant to wield such power. In her dying moments, the Amane cursed Veyar, decreeing that his bloodline would forever carry a fragment of her power, a spark without a flame, dependent on others to thrive. From this curse arose the Koen, men who amplify magic but cannot wield it alone, while Amane's lingering essence birthed the Senka, women who naturally command magic. Thus began the cycle of dependence: Koen, born of theft, and Senka, inheritors of grace.
