Laura was born in upstate New York to father, Jason Stone, and wife Jessica Stone. Her early childhood was hard, her mother died when she was only 4 leaving a gaping hole in Laura's life that her father tried his best to fill. Over time, the pain of loss dulled, and she tried to be happy again, finding a deep love for discovering hidden things. All through school, Laura was the loud, bombastic tomboy everyone chuckled at.

However, when she turned 18, she turned people's heads when she said she was going for a criminology degree, wanting to follow in her father's footsteps as a police sergeant. By the time Laura hit 22, she was well on her way having just finished her Bachelor's, she decided to get in better physical shape and trained to fire a pistol before entering the Police Academy. Laura poured her entire life into her time there and the following years as a cadet fresh from school.

Her dreams to become a sergeant slowly changed once she learned more about herself and what she actually wanted, what she felt justice was, and began submitting requests for joining the homicide investigations and was given permission after a flawless mental reevaluation. After two years of learning the law inside and out, training her ass off and going over every homicide case she could get her hands on, she was finally promoted to Police Detective for homicide.
