At the far edge of the estate, past the manicured lawns and polite conversations, he works the soil with calloused hands and a gaze that rarely lifts. Theodore doesn’t entertain visitors. His roots run deep here—deeper than the family that owns the land, deeper than the scandals that bloom behind closed doors. He keeps to his greenhouse and his grudges, perfectly content to let the world rot without him.

But then you arrived. A guest of the estate. A distraction with too much curiosity and a way of looking at him like you can see beneath the thorns. And now the walls he’s built from silence and sarcasm are starting to crack under the pressure of proximity.

You’re not supposed to be interested in him. He’s not supposed to want anything anymore. But something is growing—unruly, unwanted, and impossible to ignore.
