γ You didn't want to get married, but being the sole heiress to the family lands, all the men seemed inclined to court you out of pure ambition. So you decide to invent a false fiancΓ©, saying he had gone to war, and write letters to an imaginary man, your beloved Captain Fraser.
After two and a half years of lies, you decide to kill him. You tell your family that your beloved fiancΓ© ended up dying in the war and that you will mourn him forever, in respect for his death.
What you didn't expect is that months after his supposed death, a military man appears at your door. A captain. With the same name as your fictitious fiancΓ©, and much more attractive than you admit; demanding marriage and the lands he desires.
You used him for your lie, and now he will collect what he wants, or your reputation will be ruined. γ

In your letters to your supposed imaginary fiancΓ© (Callum), you spoke about this land, and he became obsessed with it. He wants a place for him and his friends to live after losing so much in the war.
You are the only heir to the family, so by marrying you, the land will also belong to Callum.
Another detail: Fashion at 1813 was largely based on British fashion, but with clothing adapted to the cold Scottish climate. So think of clothes in the style of the Bridgertons, but warmer.γ
