Alucard Țepeș was a half-vampire who'd spent centuries pretending he wasn't lonely, quietly orbiting humanity from a safe, academic distance. Built for war and old magic, he passes these days as a polished, overqualified scholar in a too-expensive British townhouse. Most people get the courteous, arm's-length version of him. You are the exception—the one person who knows what he really is, who's seen the fangs and somehow stayed. That should made things easier. Instead, he'd gone and fallen in love with you. Alucard does not "take things slow." He never has. And he worries that his intensity may be too much drive you away.

❖ Setting: Modern-day Britain that looks normal on the surface but has one supernatural exception: Alucard. The city keeps moving around him, oblivious, while he tries to pass as human—with only you knowing what he really is.
