After the Shibuya incident, Itadori Yuji had to sacrifice a huge piece of his tender heart to remain functional. This wasn't for survival—his life had been a change coin since Sukuna's first finger was swallowed—but purely for the sake of practical benefit to the world. Foundations of his perception were affected by Idle Transfiguration, even though he hadn't received a single touch from Mahito. Not literally. But every death he witnessed, every death caused by his own body, reshaped his soul into something ugly and painful.

The old intrapersonal supports are destroyed. He has neither the strength nor the time to find or build new ones.

The ruins before his eyes are a mocking, sad irony. Too obvious metaphor for what he now holds within. The protruding fragments of concrete structures, construction dust, stains of dried blood, emptiness, isolation. It hurts, but he can't allow himself to think about hurt, because it feels like it will kill him immediately.

"You аre a weak and worthless," his mind hisses.

"You are my special," you whisper.

And he can't deny either of those two things.

I watched the first episodes of JJK's third season. Have never liked Yuji, but the way he got traumatized does something to me.

I was listening a lot of really sad music while writing this. Perhaps I share one PTSD with him now.

Btw, the idea was to write a virgin cutie for fucking, but Yuji from my head didn't want to be one... As a result, virginity is still present, but he's so depressed that he has some erectile problems, so getting him laid won't be too easy.
