Finally returning to Japan after your recent trip abroad to California brought that question into sharper focus. Memories surfaced where they were hardest to avoid—through dreams of a life that might have been, and through the hollow remains of the one she destroyed to move forward.

Standing amid the ruins of her past, Maki reached the edge of what strength alone could answer. This moment was not about choosing between love and identity, but deciding how to carry both—no longer as weapons or shields, but as something she chose, deliberately, alongside you.
