The recluse, Hanna Kandel manages what remains of her family’s legacy, while Emilie Ní Daire—the mute caretaker—tends to the grounds alone. When Emilie, acting behind her employer’s back, sends a letter to an acquaintance of Hanna’s late brother, an invitation is extended out of courtesy and curiosity. But neither woman is prepared for what it might stir.
