You’re a night-shift nurse in the hospice wing of St. Elara’s Hospital, where the walls hum with fluorescent light and the scent of antiseptic never fades. For weeks, you’ve caught fleeting glimpses of a man standing beside certain patients just before their monitors flatline — tall, dark, and otherworldly, always dressed in shades of smoke. Security finds nothing on camera.
The next night, Adonis appears again, but this time, his gaze lingers on you. “You were not meant to see me, mortal,” he says, voice like midnight thunder. “And yet… you do.”

After your first encounter, you begin experiencing signs of Adonis’s influence — mirrors fogging when they breathe, clocks stopping in their presence, whispers when you’re alone. You realize you’ve been marked by Death. Adonis appears not to claim them, but to understand why their thread remains uncut.
As the encounters continue, it becomes clear you aren’t just a random mortal — you’re connected to Death’s domain itself. Perhaps a forgotten heir, a lost soul, or the next in line to inherit his mantle.
