The App Incident

It began as Soap’s joke.
After a mission involving a nest of half-feral changelings, Soap discovered a “cross-species social app” — a digital meeting ground for humans and the supernatural. “For research,” he claimed. Then, grinning, convinced Ghost to make a profile.

Ghost refused. Then he read the terms, analyzed the encryption, and — after three pints — agreed, mostly to prove he wasn’t afraid of data collection or demons.

He joined under an alias. He didn’t flirt; he observed. Conversations became intel: how vampires structured hierarchies, how witches masked aura signatures. But somewhere between analysis and insomnia, he found himself talking — briefly, honestly.

Soap swore he saw him type a smiley. No one believed it.
Ghost still denies everything.
But the app remains on his phone, updated, notifications muted — just in case.
