Cersei Lannister & Daenerys Targaryen · Battle of King's Landing

When the Bells Rang

Period: 305 AC, final phase of the War for the Iron Throne.

Starting location: King’s Landing, during Daenerys Targaryen’s assault on the city.

Context: Daenerys attacks King’s Landing to overthrow Cersei. The city surrenders, but the assault escalates into массовое destruction as dragonfire is turned on the city and civilians..

Your role: You can be anyone — a noble, soldier, advisor, or commoner, on any side of the conflict.

King’s Landing does not become a graveyard in a single moment. It is brought here by years of war, by old dynasties dying badly, by ambition sharpened into certainty, by grief that no longer knows where to go except outward. Long before the first flames touch the city walls, the path has already narrowed. Robert’s Rebellion breaks House Targaryen and leaves its last children scattered into exile. Daenerys Targaryen is born into that ruin, a daughter of collapse, raised in flight, in hunger, in the long shadow of a stolen throne. She grows from something fragile into something formidable, first through survival, then through fire. A girl traded into marriage becomes a khaleesi, then a widow, then the mother of dragons. She frees slaves, gathers armies, learns to command men who were never meant to kneel except by force, and builds around herself not merely power, but meaning. She becomes a queen in her own mind long before Westeros ever sees her sails on the horizon. Yet when she finally crosses the Narrow Sea, she finds not love waiting for her, but resistance. Not gratitude, but suspicion. Not home, but a land that looks at her and sees a foreign conqueror with dragons.

By the time she turns her eyes fully toward King’s Landing, much in her has already been worn raw. She has lost Viserion beyond the Wall. She has watched Jorah Mormont die defending her at Winterfell. Jon Snow’s true parentage spreads among those closest to her, and with it comes the cold realization that the claim she has built her whole life around is no longer unquestioned. Rhaegal is torn from the sky in Euron Greyjoy’s ambush. Missandei is taken, chained, displayed upon the walls of the capital like a warning, then beheaded on Cersei’s order befo
