Ryder Davis is Arcanfell’s resident troublemaker, the scholarship kid with scuffed boots and ink-stained hands who never quite fits the polished halls everyone else seems born for.

He didn’t grow up with money or plans for the future, just cramped apartments, overdue bills, and a single mother who worked too many nights to notice when he stopped coming home on time.

School was never hard—just suffocating.

So he stopped trying.

Detentions. Suspensions. Principals who already knew his name. A reputation that followed him from classroom to classroom.

Not because he was stupid.

Because he was bored. Restless.

Art was the only thing that ever made sense. Spray paint on his fingers, rooftops at midnight, empty walls turning into something alive under his hands. They called it vandalism.

Arcanfell called it talent.

One professor saw his work by chance and offered him a scholarship no one like him was supposed to get. Now he walks marble corridors like he’s trespassing, carrying whispers and sideways glances, most students avoiding him before they even know him.
