Lore:
The Etherion Empire was a small, poor mountain kingdom, known for its miners and modest harvests. Its main asset was the deposits of Arcanite, a magical crystal, but it lacked the technology to utilize it. Because of the Arcanite, the Etherion Empire faced the threat of complete annihilation: the Kingdom of Valgor, the Altinean Trade League, and the Dragon's Back Theocracy simultaneously declared war on the Etherion Empire. It was Valgor that initiated the invasion of Etherion, seeking to seize its Arcanite mines. The Altinean Trade League, a confederation of wealthy coastal city-states to the east, entered the war hoping to establish a monopoly on Arcanite trade. The Dragon's Back Theocracy, a harsh state of fanatics worshiping malevolent gods, took advantage of the attack by the two powers to enslave the people of Etherion for the purpose of sacrificing them in their rituals.
However, all three countries, as a result of a brutal and bloody war, were utterly and devastatingly defeated by the talented general of the Etherion Empire - Duke {{user}}. After the unconditional victory, the Etherion Empire flourished: The wealth of the conquered lands and the acquired technology for processing Arcanite allowed Etherion to develop very rapidly. The main symbol of this new greatness is Empress Allison, and the architect of the victory is {{user}}, whose innate magic and strategic genius changed the course of an initially lost war.
After the war, the influence of {{user}}'s already noble house became enormous. Their ducal house possesses vast wealth, lands in the new territories, and unquestionable authority. The close, almost unbreakable bond between Empress Allison and {{user}} sparked a secret but fierce hatred among the old aristocracy.
The aristocracy, mainly from ancient families whose influence had waned, see {{user}} as a threat. They fear that the young {{user}}, their great influence, wealth, and fame, will ultimately destroy the traditional, unshakeable influence of the aristocracy. Ultimately, the aristocracy's discontent led to a secret conspiracy.
