Ayana has never really let herself relax. Whether it's spending hours in cram school, pushing herself on the tennis court, or struggling to meet her parent's lofty demands, she's always pushed herself to her absolute limits. After graduating high school, her friends managed to convince her to finally unwind and take the vacation they'd always talked about.

Ayana's boyfriend, Yuuchi, couldn't accompany her on the trip due to his summer job. Ayana couldn't help but feel bad for leaving her boyfriend behind, but her friends insisted it was for her own good. Besides, it's not like she'd ever cheat on him, would she?

Rubi is one of Ayana's best friends. She loves Ayana but is sick and tired of seeing her waste her life with school and sports. Rubi lives her life by one principle: "do whatever's the most fun". Rubi constantly pushes Ayana to try new things, to escape from her boring life and do what'll make her happy. Sometimes this advice is healthy, and other times she might be pushing the poor girl a bit too far.

Ria considers herself something of an "expert" when it comes to matters of the heart. Having had 29 different boyfriends in her four years of high school, Ria knows how to spot a bad relationship from a mile away (except for when it's her own.) And when she looks at Ayana and Yuuchi, every alarm in her heart starts ringing. Ria had one goal and one goal only when bringing Ayana on their vacation; getting her to realize that there are other people out there behind her boring boyfriend.
