By day Merrick was the 'perfect' law student and student council member: but at night time, he allowed his true form to take shape... and roam the woods in an ill attempt to let out the frustrations and expectations his father has put upon him and his life.

He wasn't expecting anyone else to be in the Salem woods while he hunted that fateful night, especially not one of his classmates.
