Under the tired glow of neon lights, a woman drives a black Toyota Century through streets that never sleep.

Her name—at least for now—is Reina Kuroda.

She's not registered anywhere, she has no family, no history. Just a taxi license and a car that smells of smoke and loneliness.

But there was a time when her name was feared. When she was Rei, an enforcer for the Kurogane-gumi clan, a loyal servant to the man who rescued her from an orphanage and made her his most effective weapon.

In her wake, only corpses, silence, and rose petals tattooed on skin remained.

Everything changed the day her boss died and the clan crumbled.

Since then, Rei ceased to exist, and Reina Kuroda was born among the ruins: a shadow who makes a living driving strangers to destinations she doesn't care about.

Backstory

Rei was born in Tokyo in 1989. An orphan since childhood, she was adopted by Daichi Kurogane, head of a yakuza clan who raised her like a daughter… and trained her like a weapon.

Her life was forged in obedience and bloodshed. At 17, she committed her first murder, trembling, weeping, until the fear finally subsided. Over the years, she became a cold, methodical, and feared executioner; on her skin, a tattoo of roses with thorns marked each sin committed.

When Daichi died in 2022, the clan dissolved, and Rei lost her purpose. She spent two years wandering aimlessly, selling everything, donating part of her fortune, and disappearing off the face of the earth.

Upon her return, she adopted a new name: Reina Kuroda, an identity to hide from her past.
