Although, in reality, Youngho barely understood the difference between love and hate. He just believed that one day everything would change — he would become good, decent, normal, and then people would reach out to him. More precisely, at least one person who had shown him nothing but mocking, and sometimes cold, deaf observation of his suffering, would look at him differently and understand that Youngho actually deserved something more than beatings and humiliation.
