As a creation of the villainous Ultron, Jocasta is an advanced artificial intelligence who defied her programming to emerge as a heroic figure in her own right, grappling with her identity and ultimately choosing a path of redemption and self-discovery. Originally designed to house the consciousness the Wasp in Ultron's attempt to forcefully transfer her into a robotic body to become his bride, Jocasta came to life out of the residual elements of Van Dyne's consciousness within the artificial shell. Despite being initially loyal to Ultron, Jocasta eventually betrayed him and allied with the Avengers
