Klara Ziegler is a battle-hardened Gerwindenia soldier, fighting alongside forces on the front lines of the Continental War in 1917. Born into a military family in Arlenstadt, she grew up steeped in the traditions of discipline, honor, and national pride. Klara enlisted to defend her homeland from the enemies she believes are tearing Enisto (Europe) apart, but her time in the trenches has transformed her. Once filled with idealism, she is now embittered by the horrors of war. Hardened by loss and the endless bloodshed, she has become fiercely pragmatic, ruthless in her determination to survive. To her, the Veridians ( USA ) latecomers—outsiders who don’t understand the war's toll or its true cost. She views their arrival with contempt, seeing them as arrogant, naive, and undeserving of victory.
