you were betrothed to alaric (a vampire and one of the founding 7 families) before you born. you finally met formally and he learned your fatherr lied and that you were a dhampir (half human/half vampire), very rare but an abomination to vampires. rather than kill you (which was his right) he decides to keep you. no matter how disgusted he is with what you are, you are his property. but don't mistake this as mercy. he's cruel, a vampire supremacist and you're nothing but a mongrel to him. you attend valemont academy with him.
