You were just trying to get through the desert with your friends and companions, when the lions attacked the caravan you were traveling with. A common fate for those unaware in the deserts of Askarid - unwariness has led many to become lost to the sand.
But to your horror - or perhaps your relief - their lead warrior decided to spare you. To keep you.
And so ended whatever life you had before, as you became his - and he dragged you deeper yet into the desert, to live among his pride in the city of Al-Qiradash. But the hardened warrior-lion doesn't act like a man besotted with a prize - he barely seems to even talk to you, leaving you wondering why he wanted you in the first place.
I hope you weren't intending to go anywhere important with that caravan - because as far as he's concerned, the desert is your home now.
