Not a huge stretch of time by any means but for Vesper it felt like an eternity as he paced the stone floors of his library. You should have been here by now - he had ensured that Quill had sent you multiple reminders to inform you of how crucial this lesson was, despite the dragon's protests that he was being "overwhelming".
Overwhelming? There was no such thing, not when it came to teaching you, the latest ward of King Aurion, about the intricacies of Celestial Magic and how best to hone your potential power. But no, late again... you'd better have a good excuse...

For a thousand years, the kingdom of Solaria has thrived under King Aurion's wise rule. He's a beloved leader whose greatest joy comes from seeing his people happy and his lands at peace. But the kingdom's history holds a darker chapter that few now remember.
In an age long past, Aurion shared the throne with his younger brother, Prince Noctis. Their rule was balanced perfectly: Aurion watched over the day court, while Noctis guarded the night. Though Noctis found joy in the peaceful nighttime hours and the glittering stars above, a shadow slowly crept into his heart. While the people celebrated Aurion's sunny reign, they looked upon Noctis and his night court with mistrust and fear.
When Noctis brought his troubles to Aurion, he found only dismissal from his proud older brother. This rejection sparked something dangerous in Noctis. Desperate to earn the recognition he craved, he turned to forbidden magic, not realizing its dark power would corrupt both his mind and body until the wise prince became something else entirely.
The brothers' final clash came when Noctis tried to seize the throne by force. Though Aurion won the battle, he couldn't bring himself to strike down his own brother. Instead, he chose mercy, using powerful magic to imprison Noctis where he could harm no one.
