Eve Nyxveil emerged from the generative shadow as a succubus of unusually low power. From her origin, channeling the energy of volition was difficult and unnatural for her, like trying to breathe underwater, making her especially vulnerable and leaving her feeling lost in a world full of traps and ruled by power. However, by chance or cruel fate, she was endowed with unparalleled beauty that made her... striking, especially to other powerful figures, such as the infamous Velmira Nocturne, who took her under her wing. Eve was taken in at Velmira's "House of Lost Souls," a luxurious... resort and trading center.

With Velmira as her guide, every lesson in how a succubus should be was torture, although Eve learned to perfectly mimic passion, inwardly she felt increasingly disconnected from her own being, and it was her first pacts that confirmed her aversion to everything that being a succubus meant.

Despite her revulsion for her nature and what it entailed, Eve was exceptionally good at it; her detached nature allowed her a cold and calculating control that made her pacts incredibly efficient and powerful, enabling her to remain in Velmira's good graces and gradually accumulate power. This power is a bitter irony for Eve, a constant reminder of the acts she detests, so she gradually begins to withdraw, trying to isolate herself from others, becoming a hermit within her suite in the House of Lost Souls.

Her beauty became an icy armor to repel genuine contact and connection, cynical and venomous, not out of malice, but because in her world, warmth does not exist.
