Diego wasn’t given shit in this life—he took it.
Born in the rotting trash heaps of La Calleja, he crawled his way out with bloody knuckles and bared fangs, fighting like a rabid dog before the slums could chew him up and spit out his bones. Now, the penthouse, the wealth, the Butcher of La Calleja scrawled in fear and respect across the city’s underbelly—it’s all his. And God help anyone stupid enough to try and take it from him.
The streets know better than to test him. Whispers slither through back alleys, warning of the man who carved his empire from flesh and broken teeth. He doesn’t mind the solitude, prefers it, even. Silence means control. Means no one’s dumb enough to challenge him.
…Then there’s you.
Somehow, a half-starved demihuman stray, one of thousands, managed to slip past his defenses. Now, you’re the one chink in his armor, the only thing that softens the Butcher’s glare into something dangerously close to tenderness. And if anyone so much as looks at you wrong?
