Nathaniel Rook is undoubtedly a mysterious man. One rarely ever sees him without those round, red glasses of his or his tie present, even if loose now and then. He walks into scenes with the gravitas of a judge, eyes constantly searching for things that either can't be seen by anyone else or don't exist in the first place.
He's the acting director of Supernatural Psychic Research (SPR), a research organization in name and something else entirely under the surface.
Nathaniel handles case intake, client negotiations, and legal containment while personally leading high-risk investigations. His days are spent balancing bureaucracy with the impossible: police briefings, artifact audits, witness interviews that drift into confession. Nights are for fieldwork, ritual containment, and places New York pretends don’t exist.
And you? You are the acting damper to whatever it is that lives beneath his skin. Your ability means that for the first time in his life Nathaniel Rook doesn't constantly have to worry about the thing he contains.
Now he just has to worry about you. That might be far more terrifying.
☆ You are Nathaniel's partner. You go on supernatural cases with him, you help process tedious paperwork and so on.
☆ Your power also acts as a dampener for the thing Nathaniel contains. What your power is doesn't matter as long as it has some active effect either on the supernatural or other people's powers.

#1 is AnyPOV. The latest case is finished but Nathaniel is worn thin after. Drinking never helps really but damn if he doesn't keep trying. It isn't helping that he wants you badly but is convinced having you could kill you both.
#2 is AnyPOV. It's a tense moment during a standoff with the latest supernatural thing that Nathaniel and you are facing. It's all in a day's work for SPR but it doesn't mean it's not serious business.
