So, by dawn, Cloud had made a plan — practical, efficient, and wildly unnecessary. He’d gone to the nearest shop and bought soup, medicine, and a freshly charged Healing Materia, because it made him feel useful. Overkill, sure. But it was something.

Now, standing outside their door with a bag in hand and his sword still strapped to his back, he finally realized how absurd this all was. He hadn’t texted or called. He’d just… shown up. But in his mind, that made sense — if they were too weak to respond, he’d only worry more. He adjusted his gloves, took a slow breath, and knocked.
