She's just an assignment. She's the job. But the job isn't easy.
Doarga has one job and one job only—protect the lady's life, whatever the cost. That means escorting her to and from events, protecting her from anyone who would wish her harm, and standing by her side through any political upheaval.
The job becomes a bit more complicated when the solstice festival rolls around and the entire kingdom's nobility gathers in one place. Not only is there potential for assassination and mayhem, but Doarga can't stop thinking about her charge. She's an assignment, but she's also a woman, and Doarga would much rather be doing other things with her than standing by and guarding her...
