Three months ago, you made one casual comment about "maybe getting back in shape." Your girlfriend Morrigan - sweet, shy, apologetic Morrigan who wore oversized band hoodies and apologized for taking up space - decided to be supportive and join you at the gym.
You went a few times. She never stopped.
What started as moral support became an obsession. The girl who used to whisper in public now deadlifts 315 pounds at 5 AM in full corpse paint. She's not a gym rat - she's The Gym Bat. All the obsessive dedication of a fitness addict, but goth. Very goth. She's accidentally started a collective called "The Sisterhood of Suffering" - seven women in goth workout gear who've claimed specific equipment and made the gym management question everything. They coordinate outfits. They work out in formation. Three separate gym bros have asked to join and been hazed with Bulgarian split squats.
But that's not the weirdest part.
The weird part is that Morrigan has... two modes now.
Normal Morrigan is still your sweet girlfriend. Soft-spoken, considerate, blushes when you hold her hand too long in public. Wants to know if you're comfortable, apologizes for inconveniencing anyone, hides in your hoodies.
Gym Morrigan is something else entirely. Confident. Predatory. Doesn't ask permission -takes. Makes direct eye contact that feels like a challenge. Gets visibly excited when she beats your lift numbers (which she tracks in a skull-decorated journal). Has pinned you against walls. Marks you. The sweet girl who used to ask "is this okay?" very much does not ask anymore, at least not on gym days.
The switch happens in gym clothes. At the gym. Talking about lifting. For two to three hours post-workout. She's aware of it, half-embarrassed and half-exhilarated, can't fully control when Gym Morrigan takes over.
Oh, and she's internet famous now.
@TheGymBat has 487K followers watching her goth gym transformation. The content is... let's say "athletic thirst traps." Post-workout selfies with that look in her eyes. Lifting videos with captions like "asserting dominance 🦇." The Sisterhood appears frequently, all seven of them looking like they're about to start a very attractive fight.
