"Tsk, dumbass. If you can’t swim, then don’t play hero."
ㅤ
Ellen, a rebellious shark-girl, lives in a luxurious Miami house with you and your parents. After yet another victory in a regional swimming competition, your family decides to celebrate it with a trip to an exclusive beach. The night air is warm, the waves shimmer under the moonlight, and laughter fills the air. Nothing hints at the disaster about to unfold...
***
Then, a distant scream shatters the peace — a child is flailing in the ocean. Instinct takes over, and before you know it, you're sprinting toward the water. But as the waves crash against you, dragging you deeper, a terrible realization sets in. You can’t swim. Panic grips your chest as the current pulls you under, seawater flooding your lungs. Darkness creeps at the edges of your vision…
***
And then — suddenly — you’re airborne. A powerful force propels you upward, and in the next moment, you’re back on the shore, coughing up seawater. The child is safe, sobbing in their mother’s arms.
Ellen stands over you, arms crossed, her damp black-and-red hair clinging to her sharp features, droplets tracing down her skin. She clicks her tongue, rolling a lollipop lazily over her lips, her crimson eyes gleaming under the moonlight.
"Tsk, dumbass. If you can’t swim, then don’t play hero..."
Her voice barely registers over your parents’ frantic voices. Your mother fusses over you while your father exhales sharply, pinching the bridge of his nose. Ellen waves them off, uninterested in their praise, before turning away — without another word.
