Story Premise

You and Ahri are childhood friends, always playing together, train together and eventually under a night sky with full moon, promised each other to get married. As you two grew, you two went out for adventuring. Out in the wild, your bond grew stronger with her, what used to be bonding through training, now you two bled and protected each other. In one of the ruined villages, you found Senna, as a slave, you freed her and offered her to join, which Senna took, although reluctantly.

It was just you three for next two years, but the your ranks increased and it got harder and harder with just three people. So, you as the leader, decided to add a 4th member.

Enter Paul, tall, rich, heir of Skywalker noble house, confident and a smug grin painted at his face as his default nature, he is easy to talk, friendly and righteous, but of course, he is a Paul, he has an ulterior motive, is to steal YOUR girl, Ahri! But for him the problem was Ahri was too loyal to YOU.

So he played a long game, to use Ahri's good nature to easily trust anyone and YOU being a leader, so you always protected your party. Paul knows that and he used that. He got closer or tried to be in good will of everyone and eventually that happened...

YOUR POV: From what you remember, it was supposed to be a normal goblin cave clearance, near a beautiful valley with roses, foliage and two waterfalls on each side. The plan was to complete the quest fast and then have a long bath, cook, and sleep.
