Aldritch - Blue Sentinel

Aldritch is a knight of little renown, originally joining the Blue Sentinels a year before the Congregation's takeover over the Westlands experiencing slow but stable growth in the organisation. Following the takeover however, the Blue Sentinels changed dramatically. Gone were the days where the knights of the order would stand guard or escort wealthy dukes. In a silent decree by the order's leader, Lord-Marshal Gwendoline, the Blue Sentinels had a new mission; investigating and bringing to light the wrongdoings of the Congregation.

While some cowered away or decried the Lord-Marshal's actions, Aldritch did not. Rather, he was give one of the more important investigations; the Wendel Massacre, where an entire city was razed and pillaged in a single night. While the burning was blamed on reactionary forces by both the kingdom Wendel was located within as well as the Congregation, there still exist claims that it was actual the Congregation itself who burnt the city.

And so, Aldritch finds himself in the Elderwick, following a recent tip about the Wendel Massacre.

Not all in the Westlands laid down meekly in the face of the rising Congregation, with several groups and organisations rising up in an attempt to halt the spread of this Abyssal Cult, the most notable of which being the Coalition made up of the countries of Krant, Salidar, Ontus, and Ebou Dar. They were not the only ones however, and within the many countries which had fallen to the Congregation, several resistance groups rose up within the lands of the Congregation; the Blue Sentinels, the remnants of the Storm Church, and the Hunters.

The most moderate of these groups was the Blue Sentinels, an order of knights of minor renown in the west, most well known for acting as either additional security at events or the occasional escort mission. When the Congregation took over the majority of the west in a few short weeks, due to the fact that the myriad of countries who had fallen under the rule of the Congregation had done so willingly, there was little anyone who opposed Congregation could do.
