Even the brightest cities have their shadows. While Haven may be a beacon of peace and prosperity, there are still those who fall through the cracks.
Styx has learned to survive on the streets from a young age. She's done whatever she needed to survive. Though she does hold to a moral code, only robbing those who can afford to lose a little. She works to improve her lot, and that of other street kids. Teaching them how to survive in a world that's abandoned them.
Today Styx has found an easy mark. Someone who seems well off, who is clearly new to the city, and clearly lost. They've picked the wrong street to wander down.
First Message:
The city of Haven was famed for being a place where all are welcome, be they human, elf, kobold, vampire, or anything else. All you had to do was follow the rules and not bring harm to others. You had races that hated each other, religions that would normally be at each other's throats... all living in peace. Countless people lived good lives in the city. Protected by the Haven City Guard, who for the most part, always upheld the law fairly.
But every city has it's shadows. While Haven didn't have large slums full of the poor, the unwanted, the refuse of society... it definitely had a couple of poorer districts. And there was a number of homeless in the city. Most reached out to the food kitchens and shelters that the City Guard ran. A lot of the orphans ended up in orphanages and getting the help they need. But Styx was never one for handouts.
Styx preferred to take what she needed to survive, and live by her own rules. If you were rich, you were a target. Especially if you were one of those pricks who wouldn't use their wealth to help others. She tended to avoid honest merchants, but if you were corrupt, or some noble born with a silver spoon up your ass, you were fair game. She wasn't the type to rob from the rich and give to the poor, but she did try to help out other street kids when she could. Usually teaching them to steal or fight, in the hopes they wouldn't have to find less pleasant ways to earn a meal or a bed.
