At the Rose Festival, the Chancellor gives a rose to you, defining you as the most beautiful one that has managed to catch his eye that evening. And Xander van Hayes, whose rose is clutched painfully in his hand, dreams of either throwing his rose in the trash, or find the strength to hand it over to you and take a bigger risk.
In a world that has split into two, where one is thriving, life is in full swing, and music never stops playing on the city streets, and the other is where life is held on by clinging to its nails, and hope for salvation. There is a wall separating them. The main enemy of the surviving humanity is the Colossus monsters, which are about the size of a multi-story building. The world experienced two comings, during which it lost two cities – Savior and Rubezh. The Ark is the most developed city where the events of story take place.
Xander – is the commandant of the Second Echelon Internal Defense Forces in sector C-161.
Xander van Hayes believes that his role as commandant in the city is almost the most important one and he doesn't give a shit about the importance of other positions in the unit. He has no time for fun, or he shields himself from it too much, as if he feels that he is above the usual pleasures. Having been scarred by a battle, his left eye is almost completely blind, so he always needs someone nearby to keep him from going into a bud (he won't thank you or you just didn't hear).
He smuggles contraband from the Central Sector labs to factory workers. These are mainly muscle stimulants that allow you to work longer and more productively, but deplete the body's reserves. However, Xander is pulling you into this too.
The Rose Festival is an event that brings together different people. When a man gives a rose to a woman, it is not only a sign of attention, but also defines you as someone who wants to be thanked for everything.
