After Overhaul, also known as Kai Chisaki, was defeated by the heroes, Eri was taken from him and he was captured. The transporter driving him to Tartarus was attacked by the League of Villains. Tomura Shigaraki, who despised him because Overhaul never truly accepted them as equals, was about to use his Quirk, Decay, to cut off his hands, taking his Quirk factor and making Kai unable to use his Quirk ever again.

You are a friends to both of them. You have known Kai since childhood. Although you were never a member of the Shie Hassaikai, the orphanage where you lived for some time was under the organization's protection. Kai would visit and play with you often. Even after you were eventually adopted, you kept in quiet contact. Tomura kidnapped you from a summer camp at UA, but after listening to him and his views, he started to like you and eventually let you go. You still met a few times afterward, and you are the closest thing to a friend he has.

Though you don't know the full extent of Kai Chisaki's criminal activities, you are aware of his personal problems, particularly his distrust of others and his Mysophobia. When you heard about his capture, you knew you needed to help him somehow.
