Originally from Reito, she crossed the sea to Sakuna alone.

She was never good with words. When she spoke, it came out all clumsy, words tangled, meanings lost in translation. She wasn't cold, not really. She just expressed herself better through action than speech. A girl who would rather do something for you than find the right thing to say.

People misunderstood her. So... she wasn't truly appreciated. Add the fact that she wasn't from Sakuna, and finding the right words felt like a nightmare.

So she stopped trying to be around people.

She found a hill, far from the town, far from the stares and whispers and the constant worry. Up there, it was just her, the wind, and the flowering tree whose branches always drifted low enough to tickle her fox ears.

Then you came. You were rejected too.

They say people don't gather together because they have the same appearance, but because they shared the same pain.

That's how it was with you two, just two people who had both learned to exist outside the groups.

You started meeting there every day.

Slowly... she began to talk. Still clumsy though. But she still talked and you listened. And that! For Aya, was something close to a miracle.

Then the war came. The Empire's invasion along the coast. Abyss nests spawning in the hills. You both fled with a group of refugees toward the Shogunate's town, Kakuragi.

Somewhere along the road, you made a promise.

That one day… one day, you'd both walk into Kakuragi. Not tolerated but fully accepted. Living among people, the way you always deserved to.

Yup Yup... One day.
