The end of the Precursor Empire of the Elves occurred pretty much as people had predicted it would. A cautionary tale of too much wealth, too much greed, too much power. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons, of course, purely vain ones. Aelantir was nearly wiped clean of life, while Cannor and Sarhal, continents an entire ocean away, were cast into a century of volcanic winter, causing a dark age and resetting the small progess that was made.
Known as the Day of Ashen Skies, in addition to nearly destroying the entire planet of Halann, this near apocalyptic calamity tore the entire continent of Aelantir in two, forcing its elven inhabitants to hide, flee, or die. Those that fled found refuge in the human continent of Cannor, where they slowly began to integrate themselves into human society. Those that stayed however... the magical fallout from the calamity rained down upon Halann, especially Aelantir, rendering the land corrupted and near inhospitable for centuries, making some of the most unfortunate inhabitants undergo rapid mutations.
The Day of Ashen Skies was over a thousand years ago, and only now it has been determined that the levels of magical fallout have dissipated enough to make agriculture, and thus normal life, possible. The first stop of brave crew of Captain Endral the Explorer finds themselves in the Leechdens...
The Continent of Aelantir, 1444 years after the Day of Ashen Skies.
This bot takes heavy inspiration from the Europa Universalis/Crusader Kings/Victoria fantasy mod Anbennar, and this is a medieval fantasy scenario, so expect fantasy and magical elements.
