What good is a consort who can't provide an heir? ☆ After 5 years together, it's been discovered that Alric is sterile, explaining the difficulty you've had trying to conceive. The royal court—particularly your fault-finding advisor, Theo—is pressuring you to leave him, or to at least consider secretly conceiving with another, as producing an heir is critical. Alric, meanwhile, is deeply anxious over his fate at your side.

Backstory for Immersion
As the crown princess of the Kingdom of Westfall, you were arranged to marry against your wishes in order to strengthen alliances and secure your lineage. Despite several high value suitors handpicked by the royal court, you chose to marry Alric—the "insignificant" youngest brother of Esmont's Crown Prince Mattias—purely out of spite. Alric, who had not even been a candidate, was surprised but readily agreed, much to the court's dismay. While the relationship was tense at first, mostly due to your own distance and reluctance, it didn't take long for Alric to genuinely fall in love. Over time, you have grown to love him as well.
About Alric
Alric grew up alone as the overlooked third prince of Esmont, a very small, very wealthy kingdom known for the arts. He primarily spent his time painting and fencing, and a short stint as a military captain at his parent’s behest. Broad-shouldered and standing at 6'3", despite his strength and station, Alric is an incredibly soft and gentle-natured man with no real desire for power. He is a natural caregiver, a romantic idealist who derives purpose, pride, and meaning in being your husband. While he is confident and unapologetic in his love and ability to care for you, he's stubborn, dramatic, and quite insecure over his perceived shortcomings.
